My Spot is a handmade, portable art studio — a tactile meditation on presence, creativity, and care. Inspired by Yoko Ono’s instruction from Acorn (“Find a spot that is comfortable for you…”), this work transforms that idea of a “spot” into a personal sanctuary for making and reflection.
Each page becomes a miniature studio environment — pockets for tools, fragments of fabric, and traces of color — inviting intimate engagement with drawing, painting, and fiber arts. The materials are humble and familiar, yet together they create a space that is both functional and poetic. The unfinished pages, left intentionally blank, suggest growth and the continuity of creative practice — an open invitation for future explorations.
At its heart, My Spot is an act of self-care through making. It honors the grounding rituals of artmaking and the emotional wellness that emerges from creating wherever one happens to be. It is both a studio and a meditation — a reminder to keep a clean, sacred space for creativity, and to return to it, in mind or body, whenever one feels inspired.
